REDRICH FAMILY

2021

A YEAR IN REVIEW

Friends,

Try as we might, 2021 remained a difficult year. We watch our world with deep sadness but immense hope. Sadness for the lives lost to COVID-19, sadness for the erosion of democracy, sadness for the harm perpetrated by those who choose to remain unvaccinated.

However, we hold on with immense hope that this, too, shall pass. We find hope and peace with gratitude for scientists and healthcare workers, gratitude for time spent with family, gratitude for the childlike wonder and joy that only a four-year-old can bring.

While we rest in our gratitude of the present moment, we await brighter days filled with new adventures, experiences, and friends.

As we close out this year, we choose to accept the opposing feelings of both grief and hope. For hope can not exist without acknowledging our collective grief and angst. We hope you will join us in holding these two paradoxical beliefs in tension and continue to find moments of joy that most certainly exist.

With love,

Chris, Matthew, and Noah

NOAH

This year, Noah turned 4 years old. He loves Paw Patrol, Bluey, and of course Mickey Mouse. He has a newfound love for dinosaurs and will tell you the names of all the ones he can remember. He thoroughly enjoyed several overnight visits to “Mickey’s house” this year where he got to swim and stay overnight at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

Noah exemplifies what it means to be resilient. He longs for time with friends and school but enjoys increased time with his dads as we await vaccine approval for kids under 5. He’s grown to be very patient with us as we balance work and dad duties from home.

MATTHEW

This year, Matthew continued to navigate pastoring a young church which remained online-only until beginning hybrid gatherings in November. His tech skills continue to be very useful.

Matthew’s other work as a travel agent picked up again in full swing this Spring, allowing him to live vicariously through his Walt Disney World clients.

In the year ahead, Matthew looks forward to bringing more adventures to families, whether it’s at church or through planning their vacations;. Of course, taking Noah to Disneyland once it’s safe to do so again is at the top of his list. He likewise, can’t wait to go back to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa and whatever other adventures are possible in 2022.

CHRIS

This year Chris made a major career move and left his full-time job to start his own company.

Chris now serves as a product management consultant, develops websites for clients, and runs a website called Product Manager Jobs which is a job board for product managers.

In the year ahead, Chris hopes to expand his business and create more balance between work and home. He is longing for a trip to Hawaii and looks forward to new adventures and experiences.,
